RFS Hosts Its First Citizen Scientists August 30-31, 2025

RFS hosted three young professionals who went to high school together, but who now work in separate fields (space engineering, accounting and automobile sales) for a fun weekend of Citizen Science and prospecting for fossils. Sebastian Evridgepope, Anthony Wetherbee and Carter Schwope are living spread across Texas now, but for Labor Day embarked on a Guys Road Trip to RFS, ever hopeful of finding a huge dinosaur. They stayed in the dorms and did go home with lots of great fossils, but unfortunately no dinosaurs.

We enjoyed hosting Sebastian, Anthony and Carter so much we have asked Sebastian (the space engineer) to consider hosting star parties for non-astronomers at RFS!
